(so the posts aren’t coming rapidfire as i predicted, but at least i’m officially a chicagoan. check out the journey here.)
SO MUCH has happened in the process, here’s the bullet point update…
- I have finalized my field placement with an amazing organization that provides homes & advocacy to youth struggling with housing.
- The organization is going to allow me to implement my ideas from VisionSpeaks! In the words of my supervisor, “Consider this your lab…”
- I LOVE my apartment & my neighborhood!
- I bought a personal grill & have used it no less than once a week. EVERYthing is grillable!
I am feeling more affirmed in my future and less attached to my belongings this is a HUGE step in my adventure in lifestyle design. Gitchu some! ~>
- I really think it all started with the TONS of Donations I made to St Paul’s shelter & Bread for the City in DC. I gave up approximately four full car loads worth of belongings, including my precious “squishy chair”. It felt good to let go.
- I’ve had a shit-ton of things go wrong lately. Even so,

- I’ve decided that a) none of this would be worthwhile if there wasn’t something to give me perspective; b) it’s really not the worst that could happen; and c) it’s all about me needing to slow down and relax. I can’t have an entire basket of fucks to give about *every* thing at *all* times.
- Also: it’s about to get a lot tougher. I’ve known this in my spirit for several months and my astrologer/twentor let me know that the heavens concur. I much prefer to be eased into madness than to have it dumped upon me all willy-nilly, so this is a good thing.
- As we know, it’s the rough patches in life that help us develop & maintain our appreciation for the great times. I’ve been riding high for quite some time, so I embrace this portion of my journey, rather than fight it.
I think there was more that I was going to write, but sometimes it’s just pointless to continue hashing things up, so I’ll start here. I do still want to blog about my advocacy jacket & the National Conference on Ending Homelessness, so stay tuned for that.
